Blue marble and flowers, decorated flat egg, refrigerator magnet

Blue marble and flowers, decorated flat egg, refrigerator magnet. This refrigerator easter egg magnet was made not made with half a chicken egg as the mold, rather, a rounded solid piece of white polymer clay, and a thin sheet of marble blended clay over top, and trimmed with a knive around the base.  The arc of the center of the egg shape is much lower, and this is an easy alternative to making the egg shaped magnet with half a chicken egg as the mold.

The flowers leaves and stem were added after the whole egg base was complete, but I believe the marble sheet and flowers can be added at the same time.

Striped base, small flower decorated easter egg refrigerator magnet

Using a strip idea, the background for these two “half” egg refrigerator magnets was made with polymer clay over top an emptied chicken egg (a pretty small egg). Before curing I created a cut line on the long equator of the egg (smaller top to bottom) so that after curing it would be easy to separate the two halves.
After curing I used a razor blade to cut through the actual chicken egg, and then had two domed halves. I put a flat bottom on each half (using liquid polymer clay and about a 1/8 or thicker flat piece and cut around the half egg smoothing and pressing the half egg into the base. Then decorated the top and cured again. Eggs can be purchased at memory-beads website.
