I am really enjoying this new style for decorating eggs. It is easy, and allows the use of many types of texture tools, and can be cured multiple times during the process to keep the textures stable as each is applied. It suits some crafters (like me) more than others, since I rarely have enough time or opportunity to finish a project in one sitting. Here are some new eggs.

Just made this bunny (one egg and one wooden bead for the basics), white and translucent polymer clay requiring several curings. Little orange bow, and a separate decorated easter egg.

Decorating eggs is a big thing for me, ever since i was old enough to hold a pen or paintbrush. 77 years later, the minute christmas is over i move on to eggs.
This particular decorated egg can be made custom with your flower petals, or pet fur, bird feathers, pine cones, glitter, confetti, paper announcements, just about whatever you can think of can be embedded in the flowers and dimensional patterns in a keepsake memorial egg like this. This egg is over 4 inches tall, close to 5, and is made on a core egg that is hollow.
Checkerboard polymer clay cane slices were applied to a chicken egg, then worked and moved and smoothed and a couple red (Kandinsky type dots) were added as a surprise.
This was an experiment (as are all my eggs) in joining texture with abstract background cane with a fairly obscure spiral representing a rose, green and turquoise clay for leaves and brown marbled clay for sticks and stems.
I saw some “dot” artwork, either painting or tiles (the tiles that are called penny rounds are totally fun) and I set to make something like that using polymer clay and an empty chicken egg shell.
This egg was a variation on one done earlier, which I found both fun to make and interesting to look at. This one differs in that i used m
etal “flower centers” instead of polymer clay as I did on the first version pictured here. So the technique of the cut flower and the different color center remained the same, but there is space in the background (black polymer clay) on the first egg, and green mottled leaves on the second egg. Another difference is that the latter was a very tiny chicken egg, the former much larger. This is really a practice for an ostrich egg, coming up. Just a little bit different take on a decorated egg happened while creating this one. There are four textured panels that are sparkling black and in between those there are packed little flowers, looking something like a rose, maybe.
